The opportunity
We are seeking an experienced Chef de Partie to join our team at Queen of the west, a popular venue located in the heart of Geelong West, Victoria. As a Chef de Partie, you will play a vital role in our kitchen, contributing to the creation of exceptional dining experiences for our customers.
What you'll be doing
* Prepare and cook high-quality dishes to our exacting standards
* Assist the Head Chef and Sous Chef in managing kitchen operations
* Maintain strict food safety and hygiene protocols
* Collaborate with the kitchen team to ensure efficient workflow and timely service
* Take responsibility for your designated station or area of the kitchen
* Mentor and train junior kitchen staff
* Contribute to the development and refinement of our menu
What we're looking for
* Minimum 2 years of experience as a Chef de Partie or similar role in a fast-paced restaurant environment
* Formal culinary training or qualifications in hospitality or catering
* Excellent knowledge of food preparation techniques, kitchen operations and quality control
* Strong attention to detail and the ability to work well under pressure
* Passion for using fresh, seasonal ingredients and creating innovative, flavourful dishes
* Excellent communication and teamwork skills
* A commitment to maintaining the highest standards of food safety and hygiene
