Platform Test Manager located in Brisbane, Melbourne / Sydney. Contract Duration: 6 Months with high possible extensions. Experience: 7+ Years.
Role Summary
The Platform Test Manager oversees end-to-end test delivery for platform changes, ensuring quality through established strategies and frameworks. This role manages the test model, collaborates with Tribes and teams, prioritises automation, and selectively uses manual testing when needed. Responsibilities include governing automation repositories, test deliverables, and enabling scalable technology and resources. The Platform Test Manager leads QEP members, aligns with stakeholders, and may directly support testing for complex changes.
Required Skills & Experience
- Minimum 5 years Insurance Industry experience.
- 2–6 years of previous Test Management experience in a similar capacity.
- 2+ years working in an Agile environment.
- Experience in Guidewire/Claim Center highly desired.
- Experience in various programming/scripting languages (e.g., Java, JavaScript, Groovy, Python, etc.).
- Experience in adopting or implementing test automation frameworks.
- Experience supporting high availability production systems.
- Experience in creating and maintaining automation frameworks for Web Testing (e.g., Playwright, Puppeteer, Lettuce, Cucumber, CucumberJS, SpecFlow, Selenium WebDriver, Selenium Grid, Protractor, WebdriverIO, etc.).
- Experience in creating and maintaining automation frameworks for API Testing (Pact, Frisby, REST-Assured, Postman, SoapUI, etc.).
- Ability to identify technical debt, the things that contribute to technical debt and the impact it has.
- Ability to create, maintain and manage test infrastructure utilising Cloud and DevOps approaches/technologies (e.g., Jenkins, Ansible, AWS, etc.).
- Ability to utilise source code management techniques using Git or Bitbucket.
- Ability to utilise serverless computing concepts and containerisation approaches such as OpenShift.
- Understanding of all levels and types of testing (e.g., functional, system, integration, regression, performance, security, accessibility, compatibility, maintainability, etc.).
- Ability to define the system under test and understand the system architecture.
