We are partnering with a well-established furniture and homewares business seeking an experienced Buyer / Product Developer to join their growing team. This role offers the opportunity to influence product strategy end-to-end, from concept through to market launch, within a dynamic and design-led environment.
The Role
In this newly created position, you will take ownership of a key category within the furniture and homewares portfolio. Your focus will be on driving product innovation, managing supplier relationships, and ensuring the delivery of commercially successful ranges aligned with customer insights and market trends.
Key Responsibilities:
* Lead the end-to-end product development lifecycle, from concept, trend research, and prototyping through to production and launch.
* Drive seasonal range planning to meet commercial targets, margin expectations, and brand positioning.
* Identify and source suppliers globally, negotiating pricing, terms, and production timelines.
* Evaluate product performance and customer insights to refine future assortments.
* Partner closely with design, quality, merchandising, and supply chain teams to ensure cohesive, high-quality collections.
* Monitor industry trends, materials, and innovations to keep the brand at the forefront of the market.
About You
* Proven experience in buying or product development—ideally in furniture, homewares, or related lifestyle categories.
* Strong commercial acumen with the ability to balance creativity and business needs.
* Confident in supplier management, negotiation, and offshore sourcing.
* Excellent understanding of manufacturing processes, materials, and quality standards.
* Ability to manage multiple development cycles simultaneously and work to critical paths.
