Position Summary
The City of Blacktown Council is hiring two permanent, full‐time Gardeners to join a small team dedicated to maintenance and landscape improvement of public greenspaces.
Responsibilities
* Assist in servicing and maintaining premier passive greenspace areas.
* Ensure high‐quality horticultural service and safe, attractive, inviting landscape finishes for park visitors.
Essential Qualifications and Experience
* Certificate III Horticulture or equivalent, or satisfactory completion of an indentured apprenticeship as a Gardener.
* Extensive experience in maintaining gardens and landscaped areas, including annuals, exotics, natives, and high‐profile gardens.
* Chemical application accreditation.
* Current class C driver's licence.
Desirable
* Current class MR driver's licence.
* Traffic controller implementation accreditation.
* First aid certificate.
Remuneration and Benefits
* Start salary of $1,362.15 per week (enterprise agreement).
* 38‐hour work week.
* Rostered day off (RDO) every fortnight.

Commitment to Safety
The Council conducts alcohol and drug testing at the pre‐employment phase and uses random and cause testing. It also promotes child safety and well‐being.
