What you'll be doing
The vision for the Mid North Coast Local Health District (MNCLHD) is building thriving communities through excellence in people‐centred health care. The primary purpose of this position is to deliver safe and quality Occupational service within a specialist palliative care team and improve the health and wellbeing of our Mid North Coast Community. This position will plan, coordinate, and implement in‐depth levels of clinical expertise and extensive specialised knowledge within Occupational Therapy. The position is clinically responsible for the delivery and monitoring of Occupational Therapy services to clients referred to the service with a life‐limiting illness and complex needs or who are approaching or reaching the end of their life. This may include specialised skills in assessing and assisting the management of patients and their families with progressive, life‐limiting conditions and assisting the patient to receive end of life care in their place of choice. The purpose of the service is to assist clients to optimise their functional independence and quality of life and will require advanced clinical reasoning and interpersonal skills as well as evidence‐based application of therapies.
About you
Do you have Bachelor of Occupational Therapy or equivalent qualifications recognised for registration with the Occupational Therapy Board of Australia and significant expertise in the planning, implementation, and evaluation of Occupational Therapy Services including extensive post‐graduate clinical experience and demonstrated expertise in palliative and end‐of‐life care?
