HAYS is proud to partner with a client who specialises in manufacturing high-quality aluminium ute trays, racks, nudge bars and custom vehicle fittings who supply Australia wide. Known for their durability and precision craftsmanship and offering tailored solutions for both work and recreational use. Our client is now looking for their next 2nd Class Welder/Trade Assistant to join their Wacol team.
Your new role
As our client's new 2nd Class Welder & Trade assistant, your duties will include but not limited to:
* Perform MIG and TIG welding on aluminium and mild steel components for ute trays, racks and accessories
* Assist in the assembly of custom vehicle fittings according to drawings and specifications
* Operate hand tools, grinders and basic workshop machinery to prepare and finish quality standard products.
* Collaborate in a team environment and assist in prepping materials and moving stock
* Contribute to workshop cleanliness and assist in general maintenance tasks
This combo role is ideal for someone hands-on, safety-conscious and eager to grow their skills in a dynamic manufacturing environment.
What you'll need to succeed
* Aluminium welding experience - Basic skills are considered
* Previous experience in a fabrication workshop, assembly and manufacturing role is advantageous.
* Mechanical aptitude with experience using hand tools, grinders, drills and workshop machinery
* Familiarity with vehicle fitting and assembly processes is highly desirable.
* Reliable and have a great can-do attitude.
* Strong attention to detail and commitment to quality work
* Good Physical fitness for manual handling and workshop tasks
