About the role
As a Lawyer at Walsh & Associates, you will play a crucial role in providing expert legal advice to a diverse client portfolio on a range of matters, including commercial litigation and dispute resolution, property law and development, estates, leasing, business acquisitions and related transactions.
Reporting directly to, and working closely with, the Principal and a small friendly team, the desired candidate will be be required to undertake the following tasks:
* Drafting, reviewing, negotiating and advising on a wide variety of commercial contracts and agreements
* Preparing Court processes, conducting legal research and undertaking litigation under the supervision of the Principal (or support the Principal in litigation matters)
* Assisting with commercial sales, acquisitions, joint ventures and other corporate transactions
* Overseeing a wide portfolio of transactional files such as wills, estates, leasing as well as financial and property transactions
What we're looking for
* Tertiary qualification in Law, with 4+ years' post-admission experience in a commercial/property law/litigation environment is highly desirable
* Demonstrated expertise in a commercial law environment, with a strong commercial acumen
* Commercial/civil litigation experience is highly desirable or a desire to work in a litigation environment
* Excellent drafting, negotiation and problem-solving skills
* Proven ability to provide pragmatic, client-focused advice
* Effective communication and stakeholder management skills
* Proven time management skills an adaptable and able to thrive in a fast-paced, collaborative team environment
* Current admission to practice law in Australia is required
* Candidates must be Australian citizens or permanent residents only
