Project Manager – Building Projects & Minor Works
Oban Group is a Western Australian owned company delivering projects, refurbishments, minor works and maintenance services across the Perth Metro and South West regions. We partner with government, commercial and residential clients to deliver high-quality building outcomes using a flexible delivery model combining internal capability and a trusted network of subcontractors.
Due to continued growth in the South West region, we are seeking an experienced Project Manager to join our team based in Bunbury, managing projects across the surrounding areas.
The Role
This is a hands-on role responsible for managing building projects from planning through to completion, ensuring works are delivered safely, on time, within budget, and to the expected quality standards.
Projects typically include:
* Building refurbishments
* Minor works projects
* Government housing upgrades
* Commercial building works
* Maintenance and improvement programs
You will work closely with our leadership team, subcontractors, and clients to ensure smooth project delivery and strong client relationships.
Key Responsibilities
* Manage building projects from award through to completion
* Coordinate subcontractors, suppliers and internal resources
* Prepare and manage project programmes and look-ahead schedules
* Monitor budgets, variations, and project financial performance
* Maintain strong client communication and provide project updates
* Ensure compliance with safety, quality and regulatory requirements
* Conduct site inspections and manage project documentation
* Work collaboratively with the broader Oban Group team
About You
We are looking for someone who is practical, organised and comfortable managing multiple projects.
You must have:
* Experience managing building or refurbishment projects
* Strong understanding of construction processes and subcontractor coordination
* Experience working with government, commercial or residential projects
* Good financial awareness including variations and cost tracking
* Strong communication and client management skills
* Ability to work independently and manage multiple priorities
Preferred Experience
* Trade background or construction management qualification
* Experience in refurbishment, maintenance or minor works projects
* Experience working with subcontractor delivery models
* Familiarity with project management or job management software
