Job Description
This role is a unique opportunity to support women and children in refuge, providing emotional and trauma-informed care. As a Refuge Advocate, you will collaborate with survivors of domestic abuse, conducting risk assessments, writing reports, and advocating on their behalf.
Main Responsibilities:
* Deliver one-to-one continuous support, advice, and advocacy to victims and survivors of domestic abuse and exploitation
* Develop and maintain effective relationships with Local Authorities, Children's Social Care, and other relevant agencies
* Promote the health, wellbeing, and rights of women and children throughout service delivery
* Develop specialist knowledge in domestic abuse, immigration abuse, and gender-based violence
Key Skills and Qualifications:
* Experience supporting women who have experienced or are at risk of domestic abuse
* Risk and needs assessment, safety and support planning experience
* Strong IT skills and data collection expertise
* Excellent written abilities and report writing skills
Preferred Qualifications:
* IDVA and/or ISVA qualification
* An excellent understanding of domestic abuse and UK policies and legislation
