Let's be honest from the start - this is a role for someone who's ready to work hard. If you're after a slow-paced job or remote flexibility, this isn't it. If you're ready to roll up your sleeves, learn fast, push yourself creatively, and be right in the middle of Melbourne's hospitality scene - keep reading.
These roles are
full-time, in-office
, because the magic of hospitality doesn't happen behind a laptop. It happens in venues, on the floor, during photoshoots, at tastings, and in the moments you capture and turn into marketing.
And yes - this job is fun. You'll be part of a dedicated marketing department, working alongside a supportive, energetic team. You'll go to photoshoots, eat with the chefs, taste-test cocktails, work behind the scenes of major events, and be on-site for some of Melbourne's biggest activations. It's the kind of role where no two days look the same - and there's always something exciting happening.
But fun doesn't replace hard work. We're looking for someone who can enjoy the good parts and do the hard stuff - the deadlines, the content grind, the late changes, the tight turnarounds, the messy bits, the problem-solving, the follow-through.
Barman & Larder is the group behind
Il Mercato Centrale, Metropolis Events, Left Bank Melbourne, Melbourne Winery, Flour Child, The Valiant Bar
, and
The Gnocchi Project
. Joining us means learning from some of Melbourne's best hospitality operators, marketers, and mentors. It's hands-on, fast-moving, and an incredible place to grow your career.
This role is perfect for someone who's been a Marketing Coordinator or similar and is ready to take the next step - more ownership, more responsibility, more creativity, and more opportunity.
What You'll Be Doing
This is a practical, hands-on role covering all key areas of hospitality marketing:
Web & Digital Management: Keep our websites accurate and up to date, build and optimise landing pages, coordinate with digital suppliers, and make sure the online booking journey is seamless.
Email Marketing (EDMs & Flows): Write, design and schedule weekly email campaigns, build automated flows, segment audiences, and analyse performance to continually improve engagement and conversions.
Social Media & Community Management: Plan content calendars, schedule posts across platforms, engage with followers, manage reviews, and maintain a consistent brand voice that reflects each venue's personality.
Content Creation – Core Focus: Capture daily content across our venues – filming reels and TikToks, shooting photos, documenting chefs and artisans, showcasing dishes and cocktails, and bringing each brand's experience to life through compelling visuals.
Campaigns & In-Venue Activations: Support the development and rollout of seasonal campaigns, event launches, food and beverage releases, and venue activations, ensuring each one is executed smoothly and creatively.
Blog Writing & Storytelling: Write blogs, features, and venue stories that highlight our artisans, menus, events, weddings, and experiences, helping to strengthen organic marketing and SEO.
Supplier & Stakeholder Coordination: Work closely with our photographers, designers, agencies, venue managers, and chefs to ensure all marketing needs are aligned, delivered, and executed to a high standard.
General Marketing Operations: Manage marketing calendars, track budgets, prepare reports, and keep all moving parts organised so campaigns and content flow efficiently.
