The City of Subiaco is seeking a Director Corporate Services to join its Executive Leadership Team and partner with the CEO and Council to strengthen financial sustainability, governance, asset optimisation, and organisation culture and performance, noting of course that Subiaco is an already high performing Western Australian Local Government.
This is a pivotal leadership role with a broad remit across finance, human resources, governance, commercial services and property. The Director will bring clear strategic thinking, contemporary people leadership and the discipline to turn strategy into streamlined systems, confident decision‐making and great service outcomes.
Responsibilities
* Provide trusted, values‐led advice to the CEO, Executive and Council.
* Lead strong financial stewardship, risk management and compliance.
* Drive continuous improvement across corporate systems, processes and capability.
* Build engaged, multi‐disciplinary teams and a culture of accountability.
* Provide strategic oversight of the City's commercial and civic properties, and optimise asset performance and commercial returns in alignment with community benefit and long‐term sustainability.
Qualifications & Expectations
To thrive in this role, you'll be an accomplished leader with a track record in complex, customer‐focused organisations (local government experience welcomed, not essential). You are commercially astute, financially literate, confident in governance and able to communicate with impact—whether in the Council Chamber, with the Executive, stakeholders, or with your teams.
