About the Role
We are seeking a dedicated Part-Time Chef to join our catering team.
You'll play an important role in preparing and delivering nutritious, high-quality meals for our residents while maintaining a clean, safe, and compliant kitchen environment.
Key Responsibilities
* Prepare and present resident meals and snacks in line with planned menus and recipes
* Maintain food quality, freshness and presentation within required timeframes
* Prepare meals according to individual dietary needs (e.g. diabetic, gluten-free, high/low protein)
* Prepare café style meals and treats for Warramunda 'Switch café"
* Ensure compliance with food safety and hygiene standards and Warramunda policies
* Correctly store and rotate stock using the FIFO
* Minimise food wastage through efficient preparation and portion control
* Maintain a clean, safe and organised kitchen environment
* Support and contribute to a positive team culture
* Communicate effectively with residents, families, and colleagues
* Report any catering or equipment issues to the Catering Manager
* Participate in training, continuous improvement and accreditation processes
Essential:
* Minimum 1 year experience in a chef or cook role (aged care experience desirable)
* Trade qualifications in Commercial Cookery (Cert IV highly regarded)
* Sound understanding of food safety and hygiene standards
* Excellent problem-solving and decision-making skills
* Strong communication and interpersonal abilities
* Ability to work autonomously and as part of a team
* Current Police Check (or willingness to obtain)
