Details: The Cultural Facilities Corporation (CFC) is the ACT Government statutory authority responsible for managing, developing and promoting a diverse portfolio of cultural venues and collections, including the Canberra Theatre Centre, Canberra Museum and Gallery, the Nolan Collection, Lanyon Homestead, Mugga Mugga Cottage, Calthorpes’ House and Albert Hall.
Reporting directly to the Chief Executive Officer, the Director, Marketing and Communications provides strategic leadership for integrated marketing, audience development and communications across CFC’s multi-venue portfolio. The role works in collaboratively with senior leaders across the organisation, including the Executive Director, Canberra Theatre Centre, and the Director, ACT Galleries, Museums and Heritage, to ensure cohesive brand leadership, high-quality public engagement and strong commercial outcomes.
The position leads organisation-wide marketing and communications strategy, digital capability, brand governance, internal communications, media and issues management, audience analytics, and accessibility and inclusion. Key responsibilities include driving audience growth and engagement; overseeing digital platforms, CRM and marketing automation; managing marketing budgets and resources; and supporting revenue diversification initiatives in collaboration with programming, box office, philanthropy and operational teams.
This senior role requires a highly capable leader with strong marketing and digital expertise, excellent communication and judgement, and the ability to manage reputational risk in a complex public environment. The Director builds and maintains high value relationships across the cultural sector, media, tourism bodies and government, and acts as spokesperson when required.
