Your key responsibilities as an Auxiliary Firefighter will include:

* Responding to fire and other emergency incidents
* Promoting community safety and emergency preparedness through education activities
* Developing and maintaining competencies through regular drills and training sessions
* Maintaining attendance standards for emergency incidents and training
* Operating specialist firefighting and rescue equipment safely and effectively
* Contributing to upkeep and hygiene of station facilities
* Ensuring maintenance and repair of operational equipment and station facilities
* Contributing to incident reporting and general station administration as required
* Promoting a positive team approach in all work activities
* Complying with legislative, policy and procedural requirements appropriate to the position
* Communicating effectively with QFES personnel, other emergency service providers and the general community

* Required Skills and Qualifications

To be successful in this role, you will require:

* Eligibility to apply for or hold a current Blue Card
* Employer's written consent to attend incidents and emergencies (where applicable)
* Live or work within a reasonable distance of auxiliary fire station
* Australian Permanent Resident Status
* Manual C Class driver's licence

Please note that this role requires a commitment to attending 50% of calls as a day worker with routine hours, or 30% of calls as a shift worker or have non-routine hours. You will also be required to obtain an MRV licence within 12 months of employment and participate in ongoing skills acquisition and maintenance programs, including first aid/emergency care.
