With a reputation built on trust, excellence, and delivery, we are continuing to expand and are now looking for an experienced Design and Engineering Manager to join our team. This is a full-time, permanent opportunity based in Perth.
We are seeking an experienced Design / Engineering Manager with strong Non-Process Infrastructure (NPI) experience to lead the design phases of our tenders and projects across large-scale remote accommodation villages and supporting infrastructure.
This is a critical role, responsible for shaping how our projects are planned, designed, costed and executed. You will work closely with our Estimating, Planning, Engineering and Contracts teams to ensure projects are well designed and in line with schedule execution strategies.
You will be at the forefront of project delivery, driving design outcomes that directly influence project success across major projects.
Key Responsibilities:
* Lead and manage the design phase of tenders and remote NPI projects
* Provide technical and constructability input into:
* Estimation and pricing
* Project schedules and methodologies
* Contracts and execution strategies
* Coordinate multidisciplinary design consultants and internal engineering teams
* Ensure designs are aligned with construction methodology, logistics and site constraints
* Develop and review Design Engineering Management Plans and supporting technical documentation
* Support the tender team with technical clarifications, scope definition and risk identification
* Ensure compliance with client specifications, codes, standards and project requirements
* Participate in site visits, tender briefings and client meetings as required
* Act as a key technical authority during design and execution phases
Skills and Experience:
* Minimum 10 years' experience in construction, with demonstrated leadership in design or engineering management
* Proven Non-Process Infrastructure (NPI) experience (remote villages, camps, buildings, utilities, civil and services)
* Strong experience delivering projects for Tier 1 clients
* Background in construction, civil or structural engineering (degree or equivalent practical experience)
* Experience working across the full project lifecycle, from tender through to construction and handover
* Strong understanding of:
* Remote and logistics-driven construction environments
* Construction methodologies and staging
* Cost drivers and risk during early project phases
* Proven experience preparing and reviewing:
* Design and Engineering Management Plans
* Design documentation
* Technical scopes and execution strategies
* Ability to collaborate across estimating, planning, contracts and engineering teams
* Strong communication skills and commercial awareness
