The Opportunity This is a CV making opportunity to join a well-known, consumer-facing business with a strong national presence and significant scale across ANZ. The business is entering a new phase, with a strong pipeline of activity across the next 12–24 months. Legal is embedded in the business and plays a key role in enabling that growth. The Role Working closely with an approachable General Counsel as well as Senior Legal Counsel and Paralegals in an established, long standing team, this is a hands-on Legal Counsel role with broad commercial exposure. You will work closely with stakeholders across the business, advising on: drafting and negotiating commercial agreements, particularly IT, supply and marketing contracts; competition and consumer law matters, including campaigns and promotions; operational issues including franchising (experience not essential); and general commercial and regulatory advisory work. This is a role for someone comfortable operating in a fast-paced environment which focuses on its lawyers providing commercial outcomes and being part of the business. About You To be considered for this role, you will have: 5–8 years’ PAE with a strong commercial/contracts background; experience with complex agreements (ideally IT and/or supply); familiarity with competition and consumer law; and ideally some in-house or secondment experience. Equally important is your approach. You are commercial, pragmatic and solutions-focused. You build relationships, communicate clearly and are comfortable managing competing priorities.
