As a leading Victorian landscape company, our Melbourne business is continually expanding with new projects. We are currently seeking experienced, enthusiastic, and motivated people to join our maintenance teams working throughout the inner/outer city, western and northern suburbs.
We are currently seeking reliable Mower Operators, Gardeners and Ground Crew based out of our Yarraville depot. This includes, but not limited to, reserves, sporting fields and surrounds, streetscapes, parks and playgrounds, and wetlands.
This position is offered on a full-time basis and is available for an immediate start.
Selection Criteria
* Landscape maintenance experience and/or trade qualification (working towards) in Parks & Gardens or Horticulture (preferred but not essential).
* Experience with ride on mowers, blowers, hedgers, whipper snippers, hand tools and power tools (preferred but not essential).
* Reliable and punctual.
* Physically fit.
* First Aid Certificate (an advantage).
* Traffic Management Qualification (an advantage).
* Current driver's licence (LR/MR/HR preferred but not essential).
* Proof of right to work in Australia.
* Strong Commitment to safe work practices.
* High level of personal work standards.
* Ability to work independently and have excellent time management skills.
* Capacity to work in all weather conditions.
* Ideally 3+ years of experience in a similar role. However, those with less experience are still encouraged to apply.
Responsibilities
* Reporting to the site supervisor.
* Maintaining trees through their establishment period.
* Pruning and hedging of plants.
* Replacing trees, plants, and mulch in garden beds.
* Keeping gardens weed free.
* Maintaining large turf areas with ride on mowers, whipper snippers and edgers.
* Setting up and following traffic management plans.
* Blowing down pathways.
* General tidy up and making the playground, parks and streetscapes safe.
* Documenting and reporting on equipment faults.
* Delivering a high-quality product to exceed client's expectations.
* Meet timelines and budgets.
* Caring for machinery and equipment, reporting any issues to your supervisor.
