We are a privately owned Queensland business operating primarily in the mining sector, delivering contract-based services including labour, machinery operation, and drilling activities. As part of our next phase of growth, we are assessing new ventures that leverage local supply chains and Australian manufacturing, with a particular focus on industrial and mining-related products.
The Role
We are seeking a commercially minded Management Consultant to support the evaluation and development of new profit opportunities for the business.
This role is focused on research, analysis, and advisory work rather than day-to-day operations. The primary project will involve assessing the feasibility and profitability of establishing an Australian-made cotton high-visibility and workwear product line, designed to service mining and industrial markets.
You will work closely with the Director, providing structured analysis, recommendations, and business cases to support informed investment decisions.
Key Responsibilities
* Analyse current business operations and market conditions to identify growth and diversification opportunities
* Research and assess new venture concepts, with a strong focus on commercial viability and profitability
* Conduct feasibility studies including cost analysis, margin assessment, pricing models, and return-on-investment projections
* Evaluate supply chain options, manufacturing models, and operational requirements for Australian-made workwear
* Review existing organisational systems and resource capacity to support new revenue streams
* Identify risks, constraints, and dependencies associated with proposed ventures and recommend mitigation strategies
* Prepare clear written reports, business cases, and recommendations for senior management
* Support the planning and rollout of approved initiatives through advisory input and structured project support
* Monitor outcomes and provide recommendations for ongoing improvement and optimisation
About You
You are analytical, commercially focused, and comfortable working independently in an advisory role. You enjoy breaking down complex problems, assessing viability, and turning analysis into practical recommendations.
You will ideally bring:
* Experience in management consulting, business analysis, commercial strategy, or a similar advisory role
* Strong financial and analytical skills, including feasibility and profitability assessment
* The ability to assess organisational structures, workflows, and commercial opportunities objectively
* Clear written and verbal communication skills, with experience preparing reports or business cases
* Confidence working directly with senior decision-makers
Qualifications
* Bachelor degree or higher qualification
* Background in business, management, commerce, or a related discipline preferred
