Your new role

The Claims and Injury Management Consultant role is responsible for owning and managing the Fund's WorkCover and Income Protection cases, in partnership with the business, the WHS team and the Colleagues & Cultures Partners and Advisers to facilitate the return-to-work process for injured colleagues.

This position may also provide some generalist HR support to the Colleague Partner team as required.

Key duties include but are not limited to:

* Working closely with the colleague who submitted the WorkCover claim, or Income Protection claim and manage the process from start to finish.
* Be the key point of contact for the colleague and People Leader on all cases, providing guidance to the business on all workers compensation matters.
* Keeping the Colleague Partner, Adviser and WHS team updated on progress of cases.
* Ensure that all obligations are met in accordance with state specific legislative requirements.
* Liaising with medical professionals and Occupational Rehabilitation Providers, including organising independent medical examinations as required.
* Coordinate with insurers and financial institutions to facilitate the claim process.
* In partnership with the business and C&C Partner develop and implement return to work programs for colleagues recovering from injuries or illnesses who have been on WorkCover or Income Protection or extended absences due to illness.
* Proactively manage colleagues who are on extended absences due to illness with no formal claim.
* Collaborate with medical professionals, People Leaders and colleagues to create individualised return to work plans that accommodate medical restrictions and promote successful reintegration into the workplace.
* Maintain accurate records of all WorkCover and Income Protection claims and return to work programs.
* Assist with the review of the Return-to-Work Procedure and associated documentation to ensure compliance with legislative requirements.
* When needed, provide day to day generalist HR support to the Colleague Partner team.

What you'll need

* At least 5 years' experience in injury management and return to work.
* Demonstrated knowledge and experience with current legislation and developments in relation to WorkCover, Income Protection and return to work case management.
* Accredited as a WorkSafe Return to Work Coordinator.
* Strong interest in gaining broader HR knowledge.
* Effective interpersonal and written and verbal communication skills.
* Highly developed organisational skills and attention to detail.
* The ability to liaise with a range of stakeholders and building strong relationships (both internally and external to the Fund).
* Well-developed sense of initiative and the ability to work as part of a team.
