As a Payroll Officer, you'll be a key escalation point for complex payroll matters, supporting the end-to-end weekly payrun and ensuring issues are resolved through detailed root-cause analysis. Working closely with the Enablement Lead and Product Owner, you'll help maintain pay accuracy, governance, and continuous improvement across payroll operations.

What you'll be doing
* Solid payroll experience within complex or high-volume environments. Experience within New Zealand payroll function would also be highly desirable
* Conducting detailed root-cause analysis on escalated payroll cases to ensure accurate and compliant outcomes
* Supporting payroll-related projects and implementation initiatives within the team
* Proactively identifying, escalating, and mitigating risks that may impact pay accuracy metrics
* Acting as a payroll subject matter expert to support consistent and high-quality payroll delivery
* Partnering with the Enablement Lead and Product Owner to ensure appropriate resourcing and capability alignment each pay cycle
* Ensuring all critical payroll process components are completed each week, escalating any gaps or risks
* Supporting Payroll Officers with complex payroll transactions across weekly agile delivery cadences
* Maintaining strict confidentiality, data integrity, and governance across all people systems
* Identifying opportunities for continuous improvement to enhance payroll accuracy, productivity, and team effectiveness
What you'll bring
* Solid payroll experience within complex or high-volume environments
* Strong experience supporting weekly payroll operations and escalations
* Proven ability to conduct investigations, root-cause analysis, and issue resolution
* Exposure to major payroll systems such as SAP and/or Kronos (highly regarded)
* High attention to detail and ability to work confidently to tight deadlines
* A collaborative, proactive, and team-focused mindset
