About The Role
ThePlumberis required to complete all facets of plumbing works (including general tasks) on time, in full and to standard, while striving for continuous improvement.
The Plumber is responsible for keeping themselves and their colleagues safe as well as maintaining a clean, tidy, and productive work environment.
Key Objectives & Responsibilities
Conduct plumbing (or general) tasks as directed IAW supplied Work Pack / Job Tickets.
Complete works within required time frames and, if unachievable, inform Supervisor immediately.
Inspection, analysis and recording of critical measurements, data, or information during the process of undertaking works.
Understand, accept, carry, and complete the task in full.
Ownership and respect for tools and equipment.
Initiate improvement of tasks.
Assist in other trade-based sectors of the business as reasonably directed during periods of reduced trade specific works.
Negotiate and agree to a time, improve, and deliver on the agreed time.
Understand, implement, and comply with all Austal Policies and Procedures relating to HSEQ.
Hold self and workmates accountable to HSEQ standards.
Ensure good housekeeping is practiced.
Hold self and others accountable to the standards and improve them.
Reduce waste in all its forms.
Required Skills / Experience / Attributes
Hold a Construction safety induction (white card).
Licenses - Forklift / Confined Space / EWP.
First Aid Certificate.
Previous experience in Defence / Government.
Trade Qualification - Certificate III Plumbing and current plumber's licence.
Demonstrated experience in marine refit / repair or heavy industrial.
High Risk Works - confined space / working at heights.
Capable of performing work in a safe and acceptable manner.
Demonstrate adequate theoretical knowledge.
Ability to use standard tools and equipment related to the trade.
Possess good time management skills and ability to meet set targets.
