Job Summary
A Laboratory Operations Manager is needed to oversee daily laboratory operations, ensuring safety, quality, and efficiency. This role involves leading and supervising a team to comply with policies, procedures, and risk management practices.
Key Responsibilities:
* Lead and supervise daily laboratory operations, ensuring safety, quality, and efficiency.
* Direct team activities to comply with policies, procedures, and risk management practices.
* Manage team rostering, payroll, and leave to align with production requirements.
* Provide coaching, mentoring, and training to team members to develop technical and personal skills.
* Oversee sampling, preparation, analysis, validation, and reporting processes.
* Maintain and monitor the quality and compliance system, conducting scheduled and random audits.
* Promote continuous improvement by reviewing processes, identifying inefficiencies, and implementing solutions.
* Foster strong teamwork and collaboration within the branch and across other teams.
* Build and maintain positive client relationships, ensuring KPIs and turnaround times are consistently met.
Requirements
* Minimum 5 years' experience in coal laboratories.
* Working knowledge of sampling, preparation, analysis, validation, and reporting.
* Understanding of Quality, Compliance, and Training systems.
* Certificate IV in Workplace Training or equivalent.
* Strong safety awareness and risk management skills.
* Competent in administration and reporting tasks.
* Proficient in Microsoft Office and CCLAS.
* Proven ability to manage time, prioritize tasks, and work under pressure.
