Job Overview
The Data Center Technician role requires an individual to perform diagnostics, troubleshooting, and hardware decommissioning tasks with minimal disruption. The technician must quickly identify issues, replace faulty components, and follow safety protocols.
Responsibilities
* Perform post-execution quality checks and verify that grounding, staging, labeling, and cabling are set up according to safety protocols and deployment standards.
* Decommission hardware for simple changes and refreshes following standard procedures with minimal guidance.
* Communicate, report, and escalate incidents to appropriate management units, Technician Leads, and engineering specialists.
* Assist and provide guidance to other technicians to complete challenging or complex tasks.
* Stay updated on required training aligned to the role and workload; observe more experienced technicians to gain hands-on experience.
Qualifications
* High school diploma or equivalent and basic knowledge of computer hardware and components AND 1+ year(s) experience supporting IT equipment or related technology.
* Background Check Requirements: Ability to meet federal government security requirements including Microsoft Cloud Background Check, Citizenship Verification, and NV1/2, PV Clearance Assessment.
Preferred Qualifications
* 2+ years' experience supporting IT equipment or related technology.
* Applicable certifications: CompTIA (A+, Server+, Network+), Basic Structure Cabling (BSC).
