Where You Will Be Working
Royal Prince Alfred Hospital (RPAH) Emergency Department is a leader in Emergency Medicine with 80,000 presentations per year, over 70 emergency medicine trainees, a substantive research program and known for clinical innovation. The RPA ED manages a broad range of clinical presentations and provides strong clinical support from Emergency Physicians. You will work within a cohesive team with nursing staff and other professionals at RPAH.
What You Will Be Doing
As an Unaccredited Trainee you will provide high quality, effective clinical management of emergency patients under appropriate supervision, while developing expertise in medical practice in a complex clinical environment. You will work closely with a multi-disciplinary team and handle matters of urgent or sensitive nature with discretion and confidentiality. Decision making and supervision will be at an appropriate level according to your skills, knowledge and experience, with progressively more independent patient management under the guidance of the Attending Medical Officer (AMO).
All patients managed within the hospitals of the Sydney Local Health District are under the direct care of a specialist medical practitioner. All care decisions are communicated with the specialist responsible for that care.

Qualifications and Experience
* Qualifications and experience commensurate with the Essential Requirements for the role
* Minimum of four (4) full years of postgraduate general hospital experience, including 2 years in emergency medicine in an Australian Emergency Department or equivalent
* Ability to work collaboratively within multi-disciplinary teams and share information with key persons or services
* Ability to work independently within a supervised, complex clinical environment with strong clinical skills and judgment
* Excellent verbal, written and interpersonal skills; ability to vary communication style for diverse audiences
* Ability to prioritize workloads and adapt to changing, demanding clinical environments
* Commitment to participating in training and development to advance emergency medicine skills
* Commitment to quality improvement, patient safety and risk management
