is looking for a Senior Manager Disaster Recovery to join our team in Newcastle, NSW.

Responsibilities
Lead Transport's coordination and delivery of natural disaster recovery works, ensuring projects are technically sound, constructable, and compliant with Disaster Recovery Funding Arrangements (DRFA) and NSW Disaster Assistance Guidelines.
Provide expert engineering and project delivery advice to support timely restoration of damaged infrastructure and the development of resilient, future-ready assets.
Act as the key liaison between Transport, the NSW Reconstruction Authority, and local councils, managing disputes, resolving delivery issues, and ensuring alignment across all recovery programmes.
Oversee the preparation and submission of eligible funding claims, ensuring documentation, reporting, and governance requirements are met to a high standard.
Implement continuous improvement in disaster recovery processes and frameworks, embedding lessons learned and promoting best practice in design, construction, and asset management.
Manage stakeholder relationships through clear communication, negotiation, and issue resolution to ensure safe, efficient, and commercially viable recovery outcomes.
Qualifications
Hands-on, technically strong professional with a background in civil engineering, construction, asset management or project delivery, ideally within the transport or infrastructure sector.
Experienced in natural disaster recovery or emergency response environments, with the ability to provide practical, on-ground solutions under pressure.
Skilled in dispute resolution and stakeholder engagement, able to collaborate effectively with local councils, state agencies and contractors to drive recovery outcomes.
Strong understanding of DRFA, NSW Reconstruction Authority processes and infrastructure governance frameworks, with the capability to navigate complex approval and funding arrangements.
