**The Role**
An ASD5 officer is required to support the Business Services Unit functions, supporting the Portfolio Branch, and possibly the Division, in the delivery of outcomes to help the day to day running of the Branch / Division. The officer is accountable under broad direction to work independently with reasonable autonomy and accountability for the achievement of outcomes for the unit, exercising initiative and judgement in the performance of policies, practices and procedures.
Accountable to set work priorities and manage workflows, supporting a considerable level of stakeholder engagement, liaising with stakeholders in relation to the identification, anticipation and response to their needs and expectations to achieve satisfactory outcomes. Accountable to contribute towards ongoing improvement and professional development of self and support of others.
Specific areas to support at Branch, and possibly Division, level: finances, contracts, procurement, recruiting, human resources, training, task tracking, and administration support to Branch / Division Head/s.
**About our Team**
The Business Services Unit (BSU) team is a new investment for the Portfolio branch. It seeks to be a small but dynamic work force, contributing towards the efficiency and effectiveness of the branch's business outcomes. The team seeks to build and sustain relationships with a range of stakeholders and communicate strategies where necessary.
The Portfolio branch is a new and growing branch, providing a set of principles, techniques and practices, helping ASD ensure its programs and projects contribute to strategic objectives. The Portfolio Management Office applies a portfolio strategic lense to understand critical factors for success and engage in activities to achieve continuous improvement. It maintains knowledge of Portfolio, Program, Project (P3) procedures and management tools, and sharing this knowledge within ASD stakeholders.
You will be required to coordinate financial and human resources governance requirements and promote compliance with these management frameworks.
Engage with stakeholders, analyse problems, draw conclusions, and make evidence based recommendations to supervisor/s for a strategic lense.
Research and analyse (data, documents, stakeholder information, etc.) to produce written briefs and reports based on a compelling opinion as vetted by superior/s.
Work constructively within a team environment, including under direction, leading tasks while working independently.
