With our head office located at Greenacre, RDA is a world class supplier of dairy-based products, services and solutions to the retail, foodservice and food ingredients markets.
We have an exciting opportunity to join our business as a Procurement / Replenishment Planner at our state-of-the-art processing and packaging facility in Greenacre.
We are looking for someone who is well-versed in procurement procedures and ways to optimise them, organised and results-driven with great problem-solving skills, advanced communication and computer skills with the goal to ensure the smooth and cost-efficient flow of our production operations. This is a very fast paced role, and your actions are time critical.
Responsibilities
- Purchasing and sourcing of the Ingredients & Packaging category in a cost effective, timely and professional manner
- Regularly review stock levels in the Stores to maximise business efficiency.
- Purchase a range of additional items and ingredients e.g.: crackers, olives, various meats (for cheese platters), milk powders etc. from suppliers to support the production plan, agreed stock targets and according to exact specifications (considering price, quality, service and compliance)
- Ensuring adequate stock levels are maintained and investigating order discrepancies and problem solving.
- Managing out of stock situations effectively & investigate alternatives to maximise efficiency as required.
- Liaise with external suppliers regarding any quality control issues and continuously monitor, evaluate and improve supplier performance.
- Follow up any outstanding claims or credits on suppliers so that they are resolved as soon as possible.
- Plan and purchase using Microsoft Dynamics
- Monitor and report on supplier performance.
- Purchase to support production as needed and maintain appropriate stock levels.
- Work in compliance with a GMP environment, QA requirements and customer specifications
- Maintain Master Data, purchasing information records, source lists for all packaging and ingredients.
- Communication in a cross functional working environment to achieve plans, goals and outcomes.
- Liaise with Quality Control department and suppliers to ensure quality, service, delivery and continuity of supply as well as participate in audits as required.
- Keeping records, generating reports and updates relating to the development through to successful execution of projects
- Developing project timelines for packaging initiatives / activities, communicating risks and mitigation plans
- Strategically source new products within the packaging & ingredients categories and assist with new product development.
Ideal candidate
- Minimum 3 years' experience in ingredients and packaging procurement, preferably in either Dairy, Beverage or FMCG industry with a brand owner.
- Strong administration and organisational ability
- Excellent negotiation, communication, problem-solving ability, sense of urgency and high attention to detail
- Ability to think strategically, operate cross-functionally and influence with confidence.
- Excellent written and verbal communication skills.
- Strong time management, planning and organisational skills.
- An ability to display a high level of initiative is essential for this role.
- A natural relationship builder with a passion and competence for purchasing and achieving results
