- Australian Citizen, ability to obtain Baseline Clearance, Canberra, Brisbane, Offsite role.

The Department of Agriculture, Fisheries and Forestry (DAFF) has a requirement for a suitably skilled Azure monitoring engineer to join the BAU Enterprise Monitoring team within the Digital Services Division (DSD).

DSD is responsible for the management and delivery of Information and Communications Technology (ICT) functions and activities across Australia and overseas for the department. The division provides a secure, up-to-date ICT environment so that the department can conduct its business 24/7 and focus on achieving departmental outcomes.

The Enterprise Monitoring team seeks to enhance the departments monitoring capability across business systems and services so that potential system issues can be identified and resolved earlier, reducing service disruption for exporters, importers, and other business critical functions.

The duties performed will include:

- Development and maintenance of CI/CD pipelines
- Configuration and management of existing monitoring tools in Azure Monitor, AppDynamics and Splunk
- Implementation and integration of new monitoring toolsets
- Documenting and running changes (start to finish) under the ITIL framework
- Support and refinement of monitoring tools through consultation with business
- Action and coordination of service request and incident response under the ITIL framework
- Updating and maintaining the Departments documentation and management tools

Every application requires to address selection criteria as part of application submission.

1. A minimum of 5 years experience in a technical operations role managing complex secure environments, with evidence of sound problem solving and analytical skills. 20%

2. Demonstrated experience providing application and infrastructure monitoring, including: - Infrastructure/Azure resource monitoring. - Configuring alerts and diagnostic settings in monitoring tools and Azure. - Building dashboards for application and platform monitoring. - Ability to diagnose and recommend solutions for application performance issues by analysing metrics, logs, and traces. - Proficiency in managing and analysing application logs for troubleshooting and performance analysis. 30%

3. Demonstrated experience in DevOps and automation, including: - Automate, test, and deploy infrastructure templates with continuous integration and delivery (CI/CD) pipeline. - Knowledge of Azure DevOps and Terraform for infrastructure as code. - Experience in Git branching and pull requests. - Proficiency in Kusto Query Language (KQL). 30%

4. Proven ability to complete documentation to a high standard and communicate effectively with key technical stakeholders and customers. 20%
