About the Opportunity
The newly formed Cardiothoracic & Cardiology Ward at Liverpool Hospital are seeking motivated, enthusiastic and driven Registered Nurses to join their unique team.
This is a rare opportunity to be a part of a ward which carries two specialities. The large team is highly motivated and has a strong focus on education and progression. This is a great chance for you to work with CNS's, CNC's and CNE's as well as other Cardiology/Cardiothoracic wards to develop your skills and progress your career.
The team are looking for nurses who are confident and ready to take responsibility for their own learning and development. You will be offered designated education time for you to learn and will also have the exciting opportunity to rotate through a viewing of Cardiothoracic Surgery to learn the whole patient journey.

What You'll be Doing
The Registered Nurse will provide safe, compassionate, quality, person centred care and work in collaboration with patients/families/carers and a multidisciplinary team to achieve identified goals and outcomes.
Where You'll Be Working
1. Liverpool Hospital, founded in 1813, is the major health service for south-western Sydney, providing services to the local government area of Liverpool City Council as well as district services to residents and visitors in the area. It also provides a range of state-wide services in areas such as critical care and trauma, neonatal intensive care and brain injury rehabilitation.
2. The Hospital provides a health service of international standing, with 23 operating theatres, capacity for 877 beds, diagnostic and imaging services, emergency and trauma care, maternity, paediatric, cancer care, mental health, ambulatory care, allied health and medical and surgical services from birth to aged care.
3. Liverpool Hospital is currently undergoing a major redevelopment. The $790 million Liverpool Health and Academic Precinct (LHAP) project will provide enhanced facilities and an increased capacity to meet future significant population growth for South Western Sydney.
4. Liverpool Hospital is a principal referral and teaching Hospital of the University of NSW and the Western Sydney University and also welcome students from over 20 universities and colleges.
5. Located in the heart of Liverpool City, the hospital is close to public transport, shopping centres and eateries.
6. Current Authority to Practice as a Registered Nurse with Australian Health Practitioners Regulation Agency (AHPRA).
7. Demonstrated recent experience as a Registered Nurse in an environment appropriate to the relevant speciality.
8. Demonstrated ability to provide safe compassionate quality care that is culturally responsive.
9. Demonstrated ability to effectively communicate and engage with patients/consumers, carers and the multidisciplinary health care team to identify and ensure responsiveness of care needs.
10. Demonstrated capacity to interact with others in a personable and professional manner and personally resolve conflicts when they arise.
11. Demonstrated evidence of the use of critical thinking as it relates to the delivery of evidenced based nursing care.
12. Demonstrated understanding and participation in risk management, work health and safety and quality improvement in the workplace.
