Shadbolt Group is seeking an experienced and commercially minded Management Accountant to join our finance team in Pakenham. This is a hands‐on role supporting operational and strategic decision‐making across multiple projects and business units within a fast‐paced project‐based environment.

Reporting directly to the Group Financial Controller, you will play a key role in financial reporting, budgeting, forecasting, project analysis, and business performance improvement.
About The Role
This role is ideal for someone who enjoys partnering with operations, providing meaningful commercial insights, and driving financial discipline across projects and business operations.
Key Responsibilities Include
* Preparation of monthly management reports including P&L, balance sheet and cash flow reporting
* Budgeting, forecasting and variance analysis across projects and business units
* Project cost tracking, WIP analysis and margin reporting
* Supporting operational leaders with commercial and financial advice
* Month‐end and year‐end accounting processes including journals, accruals and reconciliations
* Monitoring labour, subcontractor, plant and material costs across projects
* Cashflow management and debtor follow‐up
* BAS preparation and tax compliance support
* Development of financial models, dashboards and reporting tools
* Supporting internal and external audit requirements
* Identifying cost optimisation and process improvement opportunities
About You
To Be Successful In This Role, You Will Have
* Bachelor's degree in Accounting, Finance or similar
* CPA or CA qualified (or near completion)
* 3‐5 years' experience in a Management Accountant or Project Accountant role
* Experience within construction, manufacturing, resources, infrastructure or project‐based industries
* Strong Excel and financial modelling capability
* ERP system experience (Pronto, MYOB, Acumatica, NetSuite or similar)
* Strong analytical and problem‐solving skills
* Excellent communication and stakeholder engagement abilities
* Ability to manage competing priorities and meet deadlines
Desirable experience includes
* Job costing and WIP accounting
* Power BI or advanced reporting tools
* Multi‐site or remote operational support
