BUSINESS DESCRIPTION:

COOKTOWN HOLIDAY PARK {S & G HOLDING GROUP PTY LTD – THE TRUSTEE FOR S & G HOLDINGS GROUP FIXED UNIT TRUST}

Cooktown Holiday Park, located in scenic town of Cooktown, is a well-established tourism accommodation business set on approximately 8 acres of tropical landscaped land. The park offers a diverse range of accommodation options, including 23 cabins and 9 motel-style rooms & 72 powered camping sites

DUTIES, TASKS & RESPONSIBILITIES:

Responsible For:

Processing financial documentation, managing creditor and debtor records, assisting with bank and account reconciliations and preparing basic financial summaries for management.

Job Description:

Prepare and record invoices issued to guests and suppliers, process incoming payments, and ensure bills are entered and settled correctly and on time.

Regularly compare internal transaction records with bank statements and accommodation management system reports to confirm accuracy and resolve discrepancies.

Update financial ledgers with daily transactions including guest deposits, refunds, supplier payments, and other receipts or disbursements.

Assign costs to correct internal accounts or departments (e.g. housekeeping, maintenance, facilities) following motel budget guidelines.

Prepare weekly or monthly summaries of revenues, outstanding accounts, cash flow movements, and other financial highlights for management review.

Prepare daily bank deposits, assist with processing petty cash, and support month-end and bank reconciliation tasks.

Assist in monitoring costs associated with supplies, payroll allocations, and property maintenance to help inform pricing and budgeting decisions.

Respond to financial enquiries from suppliers or guests relating to invoices, payments, or refunds in a courteous and timely manner.

Organise and file financial documents in line with record-keeping requirements and support audit preparation as needed.

Use motel management software and accounting systems to ensure financial records are maintained and updated accurately.

Appropriate candidate must have the following skills, study and experience:

Education: Cert II or Cert III or Cert IV or Diploma or DegreeAustralian Experience: 1-3 years of Australian Experience OROverseas Experience: 1-3 years of Overseas ExperienceSpecialist: AccountsWork Rights: Australian Citizen or Permanent Resident or Full Work Rights Holder
