Regulatory Compliance Expertise: Key Strategic Role
We are seeking a highly skilled Regulatory Compliance expert to lead our team in identifying, managing and mitigating Regulatory Compliance risks. This strategic role will enable you to broaden your technical knowledge and utilize your expertise to ensure that our operations are effective in compliance with all relevant external laws, regulations, internal policies and industry standards.
This demanding role operates within an increasingly complex business, legal and regulatory environment, requiring the ability to work independently, adapt and analyze with a constructive and proactive approach.
* Support CIB businesses to maintain an effective control framework and ensure compliance with all relevant laws, regulations, internal policies, good market practices and industry standards.
* Demonstrate leadership and subject matter expertise on Regulatory Compliance matters, with a focus on issues and incidents arising across CIB businesses.
* Stay on top of regulatory change impacting CIB businesses and support implementation.
* Exercise risk steward challenge, act as an independent trusted advisor in governance forums, undertake issue management and work closely with risk owners and control owners.
Key Responsibilities:
* Supporting CIB businesses to maintain an effective control framework and ensure compliance with all relevant laws, regulations, internal policies, good market practices and industry standards.
* Demonstrate leadership and subject matter expertise on Regulatory Compliance matters, with a focus on issues and incidents arising across CIB businesses.
* Staying on top of regulatory change impacting CIB businesses and support implementation.
* Exercising risk steward challenge, acting as an independent trusted advisor in governance forums, undertaking issue management and working closely with risk owners and control owners.
Requirements:
* In-depth knowledge of Corporate and Institutional Banking products and services and experience dealing with regulatory matters in Australia and/or New Zealand.
* Excellent communication and interpersonal skills, facing all levels of management, including executives and the capacity to articulate the case for risk management and policy in the language of business.
* Stakeholder management skills and the ability to interact/advise in verbal/written communications at all levels in a professional, effective and concise manner.
* Analytical skills with genuine curiosity and ability to analyze an issue, understand the second order implications, problem solve and provide holistic, solution-based advice.
* Interpretive skills and ability to harness regulatory requirements/regulator expectations into day-to-day policies, procedures and guidance for a range of audiences.
