The Opportunity
We are recruiting a trade qualified Workshop Manager to manage the workshop and service our fleet of vehicles in Rainbow Beach. This will be a challenging and rewarding position working on a varied fleet of vehicles, primarily focusing on our 4WD tour fleet. General maintenance work will also be required on our fleet of 4WD trucks and buses. This is a full-time role that promises diverse work and responsibilities. You will be managing a small vibrant team and will have ample opportunity visit K'gari (Fraser Island)
Our Fleet:
Australian Adventure Group have a fleet of 80, 100 and 105 Series Landcruisers, 90 and 120 series Prados, Mitsubishi Rosas, Toyota Coasters and Hino Ranger 4x4 buses.
Responsibilities include:
* Oversee and coordinate all workshop operations, including servicing, maintenance, and repairs of the vehicle fleet
* Schedule and assign jobs to Mechanics and Trade Assitants to ensure timely completion of work
* Conduct and supervise pre-tour safety inspections to maintain fleet readiness
* Carry out routine scheduled service and maintenance
* Carry out breakdown and field service in remote areas
* General service and repairs of fleet vehicles
* Engine, gearbox, clutch and differential repairs and change-outs
* Brake component repairs and replacements
* Basic auto electrical diagnostic and repairs
* Oversee spare parts procurement, inventory management, and supplier relationships
* Maintain workshop cleanliness, organisation, and WHS compliance
* Train, mentor, and support workshop staff
As the successful candidate you will have;
* Tertiary/T.A.F.E. Appropriate trade qualification - Cert 3 Light Vehicle or Heavy Duty Diesel Mechanic (or equivalent)
* Experience with Heavy Vehicles will be highly regarded
* Previous Workshop Management experience
* Previous experience servicing and maintaining 4WD vehicles
* Class C unrestricted open drivers licence (HR preferable)
* Forklift licence (preferable)
* Welding experience (preferable)
* Excellent attention to detail, time management and punctuality
* Excellent OHS and communication skills with the ability to take responsibility for your working environment
* A clean Australian driving record
* National Police Clearance less than six months old
* Full Australian Work rights
