The Role
As a
Disability Support Worker
based at Clare, you'll play a vital role in the planning and provision of a responsive, client- and family-centred service, providing Hub and In-Home supports. In this hands-on role, you'll use your knowledge and experience supporting people with physical and intellectual disabilities to promote independence, community participation and meaningful relationships in a safe and supportive environment.
You'll support clients by interpreting and responding to their communication needs, health care plans, and mealtime guidelines, administering medication, and documenting observations. Your contribution will help clients reach their full potential and independence goals.
Responsibilities and What You'll Do
Support clients by interpreting and responding to their communication needs, health care plans, and mealtime guidelines
Administer prescribed medication and maintain accurate records
Document observations and contribute to care planning with a client-centred approach
Promote independence and community participation, and support meaningful relationships in a safe environment
What You'll Need
Current NDIS Worker Check and Working with Children Check (must be completed before starting)
Certificate III in Individual Support, Disability, or Community Services (or willingness to complete/enrol)
Child Safe Environments training (Through Your Eyes)
Completion of the NDIS Worker Orientation Module: Quality, Safety and You
Competency-based training in Assist Clients with Medication (HLTHPS006 or equivalent obtained within the last 6 months)
Competency-based Manual Handling training (HLTWHS005 or equivalent obtained within the last 6 months)
Current Senior First Aid Certificate (including CPR)
A current valid Driver's Licence
If you are willing to pursue Cert III or IV in the Disability Sector, we'd love to see your application, even with no prior experience.
Remuneration and Benefits
All Novita employees undertake mandatory training relevant to their role. Support Workers are paid in accordance with the SCHADS 2010.
Total remuneration package includes base salary, annual leave loading and statutory superannuation contribution. Salary packaging is available up to $15,900 of your salary, increasing take-home pay by approximately $5,000. Additional salary-packaging benefits include meal and entertainment expenses, accommodation and venue hire, private novated leasing and extra superannuation contributions.
