About the Role
The Data Engineer is responsible for building and maintaining the data pipelines and integration processes that power Healthcare Logic's SystemView platform. This role focuses on hands‑on development. It will require designing, implementing, and optimising ETL workflows for hospital deployments as well as building queries to power platform components.
Working closely with senior engineers and cross‑functional teams, you'll translate technical requirements into code, troubleshoot issues, and contribute to continuous improvement initiatives. This position requires strong SQL and ETL skills, attention to detail, and a collaborative mindset to deliver accurate, high‑performing data solutions that support healthcare operations.
Key Responsibilities
* Develop and maintain ETL pipelines: Build and optimise SQL-based workflows to ensure accurate and timely data processing.
* Implement data integration solutions by configuring and deploying connections between hospital source systems and the SystemView platform, including creating and updating configuration scripts and templates for standardised implementations.
* Drive platform development by contributing to new components and enhancing existing analytical capabilities.
* Support platform deployments through data preparation, validation, and troubleshooting during hospital implementations.
* Ensure data quality by performing checks for completeness and accuracy, escalating issues as needed.
* Execute unit and integration tests, document results, and assist with user acceptance testing.
* Collaborate with internal teams to understand requirements and translate them into technical tasks.
* Maintain clear, accurate documentation for configurations and workflows.
* Follow established procedures and complete tasks within agreed timelines.
* Proactively develop technical skills and explore AI-driven tools and techniques to improve efficiency and problem-solving.
* Participate in code reviews and knowledge-sharing activities to support team capability.
About You
* 5+ years of hands‑on experience with data in application development, warehousing, migration, or analysis.
* Strong problem‑solving skills and ability to deliver under tight timelines.
* Experience with SQL Server Integration Services or similar ETL tools.
* Experience building Azure Data Factory (ADF) pipelines.
* Exposure to Oracle and SQL Server 2016+.
* Familiarity with AWS or Azure cloud services.
* Proficiency with database engines such as MySQL, Postgres, and MS SQL.
* Passion for delivering high‑quality work and solving complex problems.
Good to Have
* Exposure to agile methodologies and tools like Scrum, Test Driven Development, CI/CD, and Redgate.
* Experience writing automated tests for data pipelines.
* Experience with AI/ML tools and LLMs.
* Prior experience in healthcare data (preferred but not essential).
