Key accountabilities :
1. Taxation and Compliance (Prepare and submit Business Activity Statements (BAS) and other tax-related documents)
2. Process Improvement
3. Accounts Receivable and Payable (assist where required)
4. Project Administration (Expense reimbursements and project expense entry)
5. Payroll Processing (fortnightly pay processing and management of all payroll data)
6. Compliance and Reporting (including all indirect taxes and superannuation)
7. Employee Records Management
8. Customer Service and Communication (payroll-related queries)
9. System Management (payroll software)
10. Confidentiality and Security
11. Team Collaboration (Work closely with HR, finance, and other departments)
12. Fraud Prevention: Adhere to controls that prevent fraud and errors in the payroll process.
13. Cyber Security: Compliance with Fraud Detection and Prevention Policy.
14. Adherence to Position Description Task List.
About You :
In this role, you will manage multiple priorities in an ever-changing environment.
You will provide the following skills and experience in the role :
* Education: Certificate IV in Accounting and Bookkeeping (minimum); Diploma or Advanced Diploma in Accounting (preferred).
* Years of Experience: Typically, 2-5 years in bookkeeping or accounting roles.
* Duties: Managing general ledger entries, handling accounts receivable and payable, reconciling bank statements, preparing financial reports.
* Relevance: Experience in the same or similar industry is advantageous.
* Taxation: Hands-on experience with BAS, GST, and other taxation obligations in Australia.
* Compliance: Familiarity with Australian financial regulations, payroll tax laws, superannuation requirements.
* Software Experience: Proficiency in MYOB, Xero, QuickBooks, or similar.
* System Integration: Experience in integrating financial systems for streamlined processes.
* Payroll Processing: Managing payroll, including calculations, tax deductions, super contributions, and compliance.
* Financial Reporting: Preparing financial statements, management reports, and analysis.
* Financial Auditing: Assisting with or preparing for audits.
* Issue Resolution: Identifying and resolving discrepancies or inefficiencies.
* Process Improvement: Implementing improvements to bookkeeping or accounting practices.
