Role overview:
We are supporting a government department in developing and implementing their AI Security policies and frameworks. This is an opportunity to support critical IT security objectives by developing and maintaining a robust suite of security documentation. The role requires experience with federal government security frameworks, and previous experience in conducted security assessments, and security documentation such as SSP and SRMP
We are ideally seeking a permanent employee for this role, with an attractive salary package on offer.
The role will be responsible for:
* Conduct security assessments aligned with Australian cybersecurity standards, particularly the ASD Information Security Manual (ISM).
* Develop, maintain, and regularly update key security documentation including:
* System Security Plans (SSPs), Security Risk Management Plans (SRMPs), and other accreditation-related artefacts
* Collaborate with internal and external stakeholders to ensure compliance with security policies and the consistent application of cybersecurity best practices.
* Identify, assess, and document security risks, providing actionable and pragmatic risk mitigation strategies.
* Contribute to accreditation and assurance activities for new and existing systems.
* Participate in and support the delivery of security workshops, training sessions, and awareness programs to uplift agency-wide security maturity.
* Stay informed of evolving threats, standards, and regulatory changes to advise on compliance and risk posture improvements.
To be successful, you will have extensive experience in:
* Australian citizenship and a current security clearance
* Demonstrated experience in a GRC role, ideally within government or highly regulated environments.
* Strong working knowledge of Australian cybersecurity frameworks and policies, including ASD ISM, PSPF and Essential 8
* Industry certifications preferred, such as CISSP (Certified Information Systems Security Professional), CRISC (Certified in Risk and Information Systems Control), CISM (Certified Information Security Manager)
