Responsibilities
- As a Chef/Cook, you'll create cherished moments each day and contribute to a values-based employer in a supportive team environment.
- Supervise the daily operations of the kitchen and work to present meals with quality and care.
- Have a set roster with shifts planned 8 weeks in advance; no split shifts; shifts do not start before 9:00am or finish after 5:30pm.
- Assist in providing care and service consistent with Mercy Health values and patient/resident needs.
What you’ll bring
- Previous experience in a commercial kitchen.
- Food handler's certificate or equivalent, or willingness to complete before commencement.
- Available to work full shift from 9:00am to 5:30pm.
- Ability to supervise daily kitchen operations and work unsupervised when needed.
- Motivated, reliable, and detail-focused with a passion for Food presentation.
- Evidence of vaccination as per PD2022_030; ability to provide or obtain vaccination evidence.
You will also be required to provide evidence of, or be in the process of obtaining:
- Certificate III in Commercial Cookery or 3 years of cooking experience in a commercial kitchen.
- Food Safety Supervisor Certificate, or willingness to obtain one.
- Current vaccination status consistent with public health orders.
