About the role:
The Locum Visiting Medical Officer will provide clinical services designated under your direct care for the treatment of neurosurgical cases. This is a temporary position covering leave within the department up until 30th June

Selection Criteria:
* Personal integrity and demonstrated commitment to the Philosophy, Mission and Values of Mary Aikenhead Ministries and St Vincent's Health Australia.
* Possess, or be eligible to possess, specialist registration with the Medical Board of Australia;
* Possess Fellowship of the Royal Australasian College of Surgeons (FRACS) with Specialty training in Neurosurgery as provided for in the Health Insurance Act 1997, plus Fellowship in Minimally Invasive Skull Based Surgery (or equivalent);
* Demonstrated knowledge, skills and high standards of clinical practice in Neurosurgery, commensurate to experience which is appropriate to the requirements of the position; including demonstrated experience and expertise in the use of microsurgical techniques for brain and spinal work, and competence in the provision of open and minimally invasive spinal surgery (fellowship trained), cranial surgery, and trauma in a teaching hospital environment;
* Demonstrated commitment to teaching at specialty registrar, junior medical officer and undergraduate levels;
* Demonstrated leadership skills that support and foster innovation to create a learning culture, with proven ability to improve the quality of services and patient care outcomes;
* Demonstrated ability to provide high quality compassionate medical care as evidenced by recent practice experience in working congenially and collaboratively as both a leader and member of a multidisciplinary team, and as a provider of services that engender high levels of patient satisfaction and experience;
* Demonstrated ongoing contribution to the development, dissemination, and translation of new knowledge and practices commensurate with work in an academic teaching hospital environment;
