**About The Opportunity**
Based at our 400-employee Rowville site, the EHS State Manager is tasked with leading the operational implementation of our regional EHS requirements. This role is responsible for facilitating and influencing the active engagement of relevant stakeholder managers in the research, development and implementation planning of safety and other related programs to meet regional business plans and corporate goals.
Key responsibilities:
- Locally implement the EHS systems management architecture
- Indirect management of Safety coordinators
- Provide Proactive EHS coaching from frontline to senior management levels
- Driving continuous EHS performance improvement
- Develop and coordinate a system of internal and external risk assessment programs
- Achieve and maintain compliance to the National Audit Tool.
- Manage Safety regulatory and awareness policies and education training programs
- Assist in the implementation and maintenance of a system of document control
- Analyse safety performance, make recommendations, and drive improvement
- Manage the local completion of compliance audits, self-audits and action item tracking
**About You**
- Diploma level EHS qualification or equivalent
- Lean manufacturing, FMCG, construction or similar complex industry experience (highly desirable)
- Experience in multi-site business and geographically dispersed workforce
- Preferable - Workplace training and assessment skills
- Solid working knowledge of WHSE technical & legislative requirements
- Experience in implementing change and fostering WHSE-focused culture
- Understanding of systems available to monitor, manage and analyse WHSE performance
- Proven experience implementing contemporary EHS management systems
- Previous experience in an organisation self-insured for Workers Comp (advantageous but not essential)
- Excellent stakeholder engagement and communication skills
