About Your Role
You'll be working at our Garden Island site, which focuses on naval ship repair for both defence and civilian vessels. You'll be responsible for providing manufacture and installation of pipework in relation to ship repair. This role involves working in a workshop, on board various types of vessels and buildings, using both ferrous and non-ferrous metals to support the Naval business.
Responsibilities:
* Jig up, mark off, bend and fabricate pipework
* Operate workshop machinery and equipment such as hydraulic benders and threading machines
* Work across different environments on naval vessels
* Assist with developing the skills of apprentices
* Work in a team environment that encourages new ideas and improvements
What We're Looking For
We need someone with a Cert III Plumbing qualification and experience in MIG, TIG and Stick welding (Cert III Welding/Fabrication an advantage). It would also be great if you have Forklift, Dogman, Working at Heights and Confined Spaces tickets.
We're looking for someone who is safety-conscious with sound problem-solving skills and has experience in ship repair or heavy industry.
