What We Are Looking For
We're looking for a Biosecurity Member to join our high performing natural environment team. You'll play a critical role in implementing Council's biosecurity related plans and complying with relevant legislation.
What Your Day Will Look Like
* Assisting with the implementation of our Biosecurity Plan and Biosecurity Annual Action Plan
* Undertaking chemical control and baiting and trapping activities
* Participating in public awareness programs and providing advice to interested parties
* Identifying plant pest species and advising on appropriate strategies
* Collecting data and maintaining accurate records

What You'll Need For Success
With experience in a similar role, you'll have experience in the identification and control of a variety of animal and plant pests. Competent using electronic mapping and other tools, you'll be comfortable organising your own work and working autonomously. You'll also have experience working directly with the public and will be passionate about providing advice and education to land owners, developers, and other interested parties.
* Current QLD Firearms Licence (or ability to obtain)
* Commercial Operations Licence
* Current QLD Boat Licence (or ability to obtain)
