The role of School Nurse is a vital position within educational institutions, requiring a registered nurse who can provide high-quality healthcare services to students and staff.
Key Responsibilities:
* Safety and Wellbeing: Demonstrating commitment to the safety, wellbeing and protection of all children in their care is paramount.
* Collaboration: Working collaboratively in a team-based environment to meet the needs of our students and families is essential.
* First Aid and Medical Care: Implementing MACS & School First Aid policy, guidelines and procedures, recording all first aid visits and maintaining electronic records/documentation are crucial tasks.
* Health Promotion: Conducting health promotion education within program guidelines and acting as a health resource to the school community are key responsibilities.
* Medication Administration: Ensuring appropriate procedures and administration for any medication provided to school is vital.
* Equipment Maintenance: Regularly checking and fully stocking first aid kits and ensuring all medical equipment is well maintained are important duties.
Requirements:
* Registration: Current Victorian Nurses Board Registration - Registered Nurse is mandatory.
* Certifications: Current First Aid and CPR Qualification, current certification in relation to Asthma, Anaphylaxis and allergy care, Anaphylaxis Verification, Epilepsy and other medical conditions as required are necessary.
* Checks: Current Working with Children Check and National Police Check are also required.
