About the Role

This position plays a vital part in delivering maintenance activities and works across various public infrastructure assets, including roads and transport, stormwater and drainage, coastal, open space, parks, sporting facilities, and cemeteries.

The successful candidate will provide technical advice to Crew Leaders, Leading Hands, and staff on practical completion of maintenance tasks. They will work closely with Operations Coordinators and Crew Leaders to identify resource needs in line with operational requirements and future objectives.

* Restore habitats, improve water quality, and reduce the impact of pest plants and feral animals on council's natural assets.
* Support local environmental volunteer groups, work programs, community environmental events, and activities.
* Oversee bushfire management.
* Manage coastal, wetland, and wildlife conservation efforts.

Key Responsibilities
">
* Maintain and enhance council's natural assets for the benefit of the community.
* Collaborate with local organizations and stakeholders to promote environmental conservation.
* Provide technical guidance and support to team members to ensure effective delivery of maintenance activities.

Requirements
">
* Certificate IV in Leadership and Management or equivalent qualification and relevant experience.
* Certificate IV in Conservation and Land Management, Landscape Ecology, Biology, or other relevant qualification and experience.
* Accredited chainsaw ticket (Level 2).
* Agricultural Chemical Distribution Certificate (ACDC).
* Firefighting supervisor (Vegetation) certification.
* Current 'C' class manual driver's license.
* Construction Industry White Card (30215 QLD).
* First Aid Certificate.
