What will you be doing?
We’re expanding our footprint in Victoria and this is your chance to be part of the first group leading Chamonix’s technical capability in the region! As a Senior/Lead Network Engineer you'll help drive presales and client engagement, lead project delivery and help shape and grow our local technical presence!
This is a role for someone who thrives on a combination of technical leadership, architecture influence, and hands-on delivery.
As a Senior Network Engineer at Chamonix IT Solutions, you will play a crucial role in designing, implementing, and managing our clients' network infrastructure. You will collaborate with both clients and internal teams to ensure secure, reliable, and high-performing network operations. This role will involve working with clients in Microsoft-centric environments, and the ideal candidate will have a strong foundation in networking concepts, security, and hybrid cloud integration.
Responsibilities
Network Design and Implementation: Collaborate with stakeholders to design and implement robust and scalable network solutions, ensuring high performance, security, and reliability. Infrastructure Optimization: Evaluate and optimize existing network infrastructure to enhance performance, reliability, and cost efficiency. Security Integration: Implement and maintain network security measures, including firewalls, VPNs, and intrusion detection systems, ensuring compliance with industry standards and best practices. Monitoring and Troubleshooting: Implement network monitoring tools and proactively troubleshoot issues to ensure optimal network performance and minimize downtime. Collaboration and Documentation: Work closely with cross-functional teams to understand business requirements and provide network solutions. Maintain comprehensive documentation for network configurations and procedures. Engage directly with clients including presales involvement, running workshops, shaping user stories, and collaborating through agile delivery cycle.
Experience Required
You have at least 5 years of experience in network engineering, with a solid understanding of both traditional and modern networking technologies.
Network Design and Implementation: Proven experience in designing and implementing complex network solutions. Security Integration: Strong understanding of network security principles, with experience in implementing security measures. Monitoring and Troubleshooting: Proficiency in network monitoring tools and troubleshooting methodologies. Collaboration and Documentation: Excellent collaboration and communication skills, coupled with meticulous documentation habits. Technical Proficiency: Solid understanding of networking protocols, hardware, and software, with experience in both on-premises and cloud-based environments.
Key Technologies You’ll Work With Include
Cisco routing and switching, wireless LANs, firewalls, SD-WAN, and data center networkingPalo Alto Next-Generation Firewalls and centralized management toolsAruba switching, wireless infrastructure, and access control solutionsMicrosoft Azure networking, including VNets, NSGs, Azure Firewall, ExpressRoute, and hybrid integrations
Preferred certifications: CCNP, PCNSE, Azure Network Engineer Associate, or Aruba ACSA/ACSP.
