About the role
We are currently seeking an experienced rail civil site engineer to join our Rail Operations hub based in Sunshine West, VIC.
Rail Operations is an internal business unit within Laing O'Rourke, specialising in the sole delivery of all aspects of rail, working with a team of technical experts to deliver a high portfolio of work across Victoria.
Key responsibilities
* Tendering of packages (typically managing 2‐3 tenders at one time)
* Presenting scope briefings, conducting site walks, producing programmes and full cost estimates as well as presenting the submission to GenSup/PM/PL for review and approval. Final stage is producing the submission pack for the client
* Reading and understanding drawings and specifications and checking that work is built correctly and to plan
* Driving our self‐delivery agenda using internal resources and plant
* Monitoring progress and reporting issues
* Checking quality of work and materials and submission of QA
About you
* Previous experience in a site engineer delivery role working with a tier 1 contractor
* Degree in Civil Engineering or equivalent
* Experience with managing contractor models
* Previous experience working on rail projects
