Roster: 4D/3R – FIFO ex Perth
Contract Duration: Fixed Term – 12 Months
This position is within the OPF Engineering Department of our Ore Processing Plant Facility. The role leads a team of Mechanical Engineers and reports to the Superintendent of Engineering and Reliability.
Key Responsibilities
* Providing technical support to our Operational Projects teams execution capital works including scoping, design review & technical queries;
* Support to our existing Operations by investigating equipment failures, support during breakdown events & shutdowns, providing direction & technical guidance to site stakeholders and coaching and mentoring of engineers;
* Providing sound Engineering Standards to ensure our people are safe and our assets are reliable and efficient;
* Providing safety leadership to effectively identify and manage technical risks across Fortescue; and
* Achieving targets set for defined sections of area budgets.
Qualifications and Experience
* Tertiary Qualification in Mechanical Engineering;
* 10+ years of experience as a Mechanical Engineer that includes experience in the Mining Industry;
* Mining experience in hard rock applications;
* Prior experience with vibrating screens, centrifugal slurry pumps, conveyors and chutes;
* Strong conceptual thinking and analytical focus;
* Excellent problem-solving skills and continual improvement focus;
* Knowledge of relevant mines legislations and regulations;
* Knowledge of computer management systems, including SAP; and
* Advanced time management, planning, organizational, scheduling and coordination skills.
