Job Overview
We are seeking trade-qualified Spray Painters to join our advanced manufacturing site in Port Melbourne on a full-time permanent basis. Reporting to the Manufacturing Manager, the role involves sealant application, product preparation, and painting of various parts and products within the paint shop.
Shift Schedule
Work will be scheduled on one of the following shifts based on business requirements:
* Day Shift: 6am – 2:30pm
* Afternoon Shift: 2:30pm – 11pm (15% salary loading)
* Night Shift: 10pm – 6:30am (30% salary loading)
Responsibilities
* Understand quality instructions and detailed drawings.
* Comply with BAA and customer quality assurance standards.
* Adhere to surface finish process specifications and work order specifications.
* Operate and monitor spray booths and oven specifications.
* Prepare and paint final assembled and detailed parts.
* Use hand and pneumatic paint process tools.
* Complete preparation processes for composite product painting.
* Undertake mixing processes and paint application in a production environment.
* Maintain housekeeping and compliance requirements.
* Participate in Lean programs and continuous improvement initiatives.
* Uphold health and safety culture and environmental standards.
Qualifications
* Trade qualification as a Spray Painter.
* Relevant experience as a Spray Painter.
* Experience painting various substrate materials in a high-quality environment.
* Flexibility to undertake shift work across day, afternoon, and night shifts.
* Ability to read and interpret drawings and work instructions.
* Excellent communication and teamwork skills.
* Basic computer system proficiency.
* Ability to exercise independent judgment.
* Capability to work under indirect supervision.
* General knowledge of safety procedures and strong advocate of EH&S practices.
* Full, unrestricted working rights in Australia.

Additional Information
This position is classified as an Aerospace Tradesperson 1 under an Enterprise Agreement. Candidates will complete background checks and a three‐month probationary period. All information provided will be verified.
