Casual Chef - Position Description
The North Freo Bowlo was established in 1957 and is being restored and revived under new management. We are looking for a Chef to help activate the club one evening a week by providing a food offering to members.
As the chef, you'll create interesting food offerings for our members each week. You will work independently to plan, cost and order produce and will have the support of volunteers in service. You will need to be well presented and friendly. This is a casual position working 6-7 hours per week, on Fridays to start. Opportunities to gain additional hours will be available if the club grows or on special event days.
Your Responsibilities:
· Plan, cost and order ingredients for a weekly offering for members. To consist of one meat and one vegetarian option each week.
· Communicate offering including any allergen information to Club Manager so that they can advertise.
· Prepare and cook a weekly offering for members.
· Oversee and provide leadership to volunteers who assist with food service or cleaning.
· Support the development of snack offerings available from the bar.
· Maintain the cleanliness of the club's kitchen performing full clean producers down at the end of each service.
· Follow all health and safety procedures to contribute to a safe working environment. Take corrective/preventative action and report any WHS issues to the club manager.
· Follow all food and safety guidelines and educate volunteers to ensure food is prepped, cooked and stored safely.
