The role
We are seeking a proactive and experienced Event Manager to lead projects from first enquiry through to delivery. This role combines event management, project management and involvement in the hire side of the business, supporting clients across both The Event Mill and Reeces Hire. You will own client relationships, shape creative concepts, build budgets and schedules, coordinate suppliers and crew, and provide confident leadership on site when required. We are open to flexible hours and part time for the right candidate.
What you will do
* Manage a portfolio of corporate, government, community and private events
* Lead client discovery, proposals, presentations and stakeholder updates
* Manage a broad mix of client and lead types, including tenders, repeat clients, new enquiries, referrals and inbound opportunities across both event management and hire
* Work alongside the Senior Event Manager and Directors on strategy, key clients and approvals, while owning end to end delivery on assigned projects
* Develop concepts, styling directions, floor plans, run sheets and site plans
* Build and manage budgets, quotes and margin targets, track costs and approvals
* Manage project timelines, deliverables and internal coordination from planning through to delivery
* Translate client briefs into hire solutions across The Event Mill and Reeces Hire
* Prepare hire quotes, check availability, place inventory holds and finalise pick lists
* Procure and coordinate suppliers, negotiate rates and confirm scopes
* Plan logistics with operations and warehouse teams, schedule crews and transport
* Oversee compliance and risk management including WHS and permits
* Lead installs, show calls and pack downs when required, and ensure quality control
* Deliver post event reporting, debriefs and continuous improvement actions
What you will bring
* 5 or more years in event management or event production in an agency, venue or hire environment
* Strong project leadership, stakeholder management and communication skills
* Proven ability to lead projects independently from brief through to delivery
* Proven ability to manage multiple priorities and perform well in a fast paced environment
* Experience managing multiple suppliers and moving parts across concurrent projects
* Confidence working both independently and as part of a small senior led team, supporting the Senior Event Manager and Directors where required
* Proven budgeting, quoting and cost control capability with high attention to detail
* Strong Microsoft Office skills and confidence using or learning design and floor plan tools
* Current driver's licence and flexibility to work some evenings and weekends
* A calm and solutions focused approach and a genuine love of great events
* Tertiary qualification in Event Management, Marketing, Business or a related field preferred
